Director of Legal Affairs

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Legal Affairs to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing legal guidance and oversight across the organization. Responsibilities

​

• Provide legal advice and counsel to senior management and other departments on a wide range of legal matters, including corporate governance, contracts, intellectual property, employment law, and regulatory compliance.
• Develop, implement, and maintain legal policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Manage and oversee outside counsel and vendors, including retaining and managing external legal counsel, and negotiating and managing contracts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategic business initiatives, ensuring legal alignment and compliance.
• Develop and manage the legal department's budget, forecasts, and resource allocation.
• Stay up-to-date with changes in laws, regulations, and industry trends, and provide guidance to the organization accordingly.
• Manage and resolve legal disputes and litigation, as needed.

Requirements

​

• JD or equivalent law degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in good standing.
• 10+ years of experience in a legal role, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership position.
• Proven track record of providing strategic legal guidance and oversight in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Experience with contract management, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance is a plus.
