Director, Corporate Legal Services

Job Summary

​

The Director, Corporate Legal Services will provide strategic legal guidance and support to the organization, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

​

Key Responsibilities

​

• Provide legal advice and guidance to senior management and other stakeholders on various corporate legal matters, including corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
• Develop and implement effective policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with other departments to identify and mitigate legal risks and provide expertise on legal and regulatory matters.
• Manage and oversee the provision of legal services to the organization, including the management of external counsel and legal service providers.
• Develop and manage the legal department budget and ensure effective allocation of resources.
• Stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations and provide training and guidance to employees as needed.
• Participate in special projects and initiatives as required.

Requirements

​

• Law degree (JD or LLB) and admission to the bar in good standing.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a corporate legal department or law firm, with experience in a senior leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of corporate and commercial law, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and make sound judgments in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other productivity software.
