Contract Manager (Remote)
Job Description:
The Contract Manager is responsible for managing the entire contract lifecycle, implementing and maintaining CLM systems, and ensuring compliance with legal and security requirements. Additionally, it includes overseeing e-signature platforms, collaborating with various departments, and providing training on contract policies and tools.
Pursuant to California, Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington, Washington, DC, and Jersey City, New Jersey, Illinois, Minneapolis, Vermont regulation, the salary range is $131,000 to $155,000 annually and includes eligibility for performance-based bonuses. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Responsibilities
- Manage the contract lifecycle from drafting to negotiation, execution, and renewal for vendor, client, and internal agreements.
- Implement and maintain Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems, ensuring proper tracking and reporting of all contract activity.
- Oversee the use of e-signature platforms to streamline the signature process for various agreements, ensuring compliance with legal and security requirements.
- Serve as the main point of contact for select contract-related queries, supporting internal teams by ensuring agreements meet firm policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with various departments to identify areas for improvement in contract management processes and implement best practices.
- Ensure that all contracts comply with relevant client requirements, ethical rules, laws, including GDPR, HIPAA, and other applicable privacy and data security regulations.
- Assist in vendor management, working closely with risk and compliance teams using tools to maintain compliance in vendor agreements and third-party risk management.
- Provide training to internal stakeholders on contract policies, CLM tools, and e-signature technologies.
- Track and manage contract expiration and renewal dates, providing timely alerts to the appropriate teams.
- Collaborate with the legal team to update contract templates and ensure consistency across agreements.
- Conduct regular audits of contracts to ensure that executed agreements are stored properly in the firm’s document management system.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in contract management, preferably in a law firm, legal, sourcing or procurement department settings.
- Strong familiarity with CLM tools, e-signature technologies and Generative AI contract drafting and analysis solutions.
- Previous experience working with privacy regulatory frameworks such as GDPR and HIPAA is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively and present contract terms clearly.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously, with excellent organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to spot inconsistencies and legal risks in contracts.
- Experience working with document management systems, and contract management platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.
- Proven ability to work both independently and in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Work occasionally requires more than 40 hours per week to perform essential duties of the position.
Education And Certifications
Required: Bachelor’s degree in business, Law, or a related field is required.
Preferred: A paralegal certificate or law degree is a plus.
