Director of Legal
Overview
We’re on the hunt for a Director of Legal, so if you’re in the market for a gig that’s both meaningful and a bit of a brain teaser, you’re in luck! Our operations span the globe and touch every state. We have a lot of legal work and some fun problems to solve. We seek someone who has started their career in a firm, ideally had litigation experience, and then moved into the corporate side and spent 5+ years being the person making the decisions about all things legal. Or maybe you’re just a great person and can show how you’ve morphed legal intelligence into incredible street smarts.

You don’t perceive yourself merely as someone confined to a desk; rather, you see yourself as a sharp and resourceful legal professional. We feel someone with some litigation experience would be the best prepared for this role, not because we like to litigate, but mostly just a guess.
You’ll be driving a lot of the legal decisions we make and ultimately be a major part of those decisions. You also will be tasked with developing Legal Managers for each of your supporting legal product groups. Our legal managers manage 5-10 individual contributor lawyers. You’ll be tasked with breaking down different sections of our legal problems, helping us develop and maintain our vision statements, strategies, tenants, tactics, roadmaps, priorities, and our legal sprints. If that statement sounded like a foreign language to you, this job will not be a good fit for you. Wage
Up to $200,000/year + relocation package.

Responsibilities
- Drive the legal where you want it to go
- Enhance our SaaS model, drive multiple acquisitions a year, help create the business strategy that is going to squash the competition
- Expand, grow, let's take this thing internationally eventually
- Level up! The team, yourself, the company. You'll be helping driving the ship to make us the legal team people never knew existed
- Be nimble and quick on your feet when legal changes that will impact our business are coming. Plan for this
- Liaise, integrate, relate, or however it works with the Government, let's get this going here
- Real Estate? Yes! Negotiate, contract, all that legal jazz
- Think past compliance to be more business minded and street smart when it comes to our legal
- Think through IP Portfolio management, put a plan in place, execute!
- Manage direct and indirect legal processes and communications as they arise
- Be able to communicate effectively your plans easily to team members outside of the legal space

Requirements
- Previous litigation experience
- Law degree with 10+ years of progressive legal experience
- Experience being the legal decision maker in regards to business decisions
