Sr. Director, Legal - Employment Law

About the Role

The Sr. Director, Legal - Employment Law will serve as a strategic advisor and leader of the Employment Law group, providing guidance and support to the People team, management, and employees on employment-related legal matters. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of success in employment law and will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of employment law policies, procedures, and best practices that align with the company's business goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and support on employment law matters to the People team, management, and employees.
• Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of employment law policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain relationships with external counsel and vendors.
• Manage and resolve employment-related disputes and claims.
• Collaborate with the People team to develop and implement diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
• Develop and manage the employment law budget.
• Stay up-to-date on changes in employment laws and regulations and advise the organization on necessary actions.

Qualifications

• JD degree from an accredited law school.
• 10+ years of experience in employment law, with a focus on counseling and litigation.
• Admission to practice law in at least one state.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects.
• Experience working in a corporate legal department or law firm.
