As part of the customer contracts team in the Legal and Compliance group, you will function as the contracting team lead in our In-Space Systems (ISS) business unit. You will team with cross-functional counterparts on issues related to ISS’s U.S. Government, commercial and international contracting matters.

In this people manager role, you should be comfortable leading a small contracting team through a dynamic environment where work projects can be diverse in nature and move quickly. You will manage and allocate responsibilities across the team for the development and delivery of quotations for goods and services from informal rough order of magnitude through formal proposals, subsequent contract negotiations, administration, and closeout while also balancing your own contracting workload.

This position will be onsite at our Kent, WA location.

Responsibilities:

  • Team lead and people manager for the ISS business unit customer contracts team. Responsible for balancing the team’s workload across team members while simultaneously providing an appropriate level of oversight.
  • Develop and lead contracting strategy for U.S. Government and commercial contracting proposal activities.
  • Draft, review and negotiate contracting documents of varying degrees of complexity, working with cross-functional leads to ensure that all requirements and risks are addressed.
  • Draft and receive customer correspondence through the development of standardized templates and responses.
  • Provide contract execution support, communication of contractual requirements, tracking of data deliverables, supervising contractual obligations and preparation of documentation.
  • Provide guidance on adherence to internal policies, procedures, and tools relating to customer contract administration. Standardize processes and use automation when practical and appropriate.
  • People manager responsible for a small team of junior contract administrators who will assist you.
  • Ability to travel on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of direct experience in the creation and administration of U.S. Government and commercial contracts.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance strongly preferred; in lieu of an active security clearance, the ability to acquire a U.S. Government security clearance is required. 
  • Experience with U.S. Government contracting to include Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), NASA FAR Supplement, Cost Accounting Standards, etc.
  • Experience in commercial contracting including business-to-business (B2B) and as a subcontractor to a U.S. Government prime.
  • Experience supporting complex contractual arrangements of different contract types in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to earn trust and develop positive, professional relationships while strengthening our culture of inclusion.
  • Prior experience managing and/or leading a team.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

  • Experience working with or in the contracting office of NASA, the U.S. Air Force, or other U.S. Government agencies. 
  • A master's degree or equivalent in a technical field or other field that provides exposure to contracting issues.

 

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $165,672.00-$231,940.80Other site ranges may differ

Paid Time Off:  Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays.
