Legal Contract Manager
Position Details
- Position Type: Contractor; 15-20 hrs/week

- Rate: $35-$50/hr
- Reports To: Implementation Director
- Start Date: December 1, 2024
Overview
Verdani Partners is seeking a qualified Legal Contract Manager to support our Operations and Business Development teams. The role involves:
- Managing internal contracts
- Reviewing and negotiating client contracts
- Ensuring compliance with company policies
- Handling legally related matters for diverse client portfolios
- Acting as a liaison with legal counsel
Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Point of Contact (POC): Serve as the primary POC between Verdani Partners and our legal counsel.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Verdani’s attorneys, business development team, ESG client advisors, COO, HR, and other strategic advisors.
- Contract Review & Management:
- Review, negotiate, and manage contracts related to client services, operations, HR, and facilities.
- Ensure all agreements are well-structured, legally compliant, and managed effectively.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with contracts.
- Compliance: Ensure all contracts adhere to Verdani’s legal and organizational policies.
- Signing & Renewal Process: Coordinate contract signing and renewals to obtain necessary signatures.
- Contract Drafting: Draft new contracts as needed (e.g., MSAs, PSAs, MOUs, MNDAs) and maintain organized tracking.
- Monthly Reporting: Provide monthly updates on contract statuses.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Process Improvement: Recommend improvements to contract content and management practices.
- Communication & Training: Share contract-related information within the organization and train staff on procedures.
- Relationship Building: Foster positive relationships by delivering exceptional contract management services.
Note: All work by the Contract Manager will be coordinated with Verdani’s legal counsel and reviewed by the legal secretary.
Qualifications
We welcome applicants with varying levels of the following required and preferred experience:
Required
- Education: Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Paralegal Studies, or related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Experience: Contract administration or a related role
- Legal Knowledge:
- Contract Law and Negotiation
- Company Operations Law
- Intellectual Property (IP) Law
- Data Privacy and Security
- Regulatory Compliance
- Risk Management and Liability
- Skills:
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Detail-oriented with multitasking ability
- Proficiency in contract management software or legal tech tools
Preferred
- Certification: CCMA or CCCM certification
- Sector-Specific Experience: Commercial real estate, sustainability, finance, technology, etc.
- Additional Skills:
- Knowledge in Corporate Law, Taxation, Employment & Labor Law
- Project management and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
Platforms & Software
- Required: Proficiency in Adobe and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
While performing job duties, the employee may experience:
- Prolonged stationary periods at a desk
- Repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motions
- Light to moderate lifting, bending, and stooping
- Vision: Close vision requirements due to computer work
- Hearing: Adequate for in-person and phone communication
