Regulatory Compliance Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Welding Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing welding processes and systems to ensure high-quality production standards. This role requires a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and the ability to work collaboratively on various projects. The Welding Engineer will play a crucial role in enhancing our manufacturing capabilities and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Review product labels and technical specifications to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Develop mandatory labeling components, including ingredient lists and nutrition facts panels using databases, nutrition testing, and analytical calculations.
- Provide expert consultation on labeling compliance, claims validation, and regulatory documentation.
- Assess and advise on label claims, including nutrient/health claims, marketing callouts, and descriptive content.
- Stay updated on evolving labeling regulations and industry trends through webinars, conferences, and training.
- Collaborate with sales, customers, and regulatory management to support compliance-related projects.
- Conduct quality checks on completed projects to maintain high standards.
- Assist with regulatory marketing initiatives, such as blog writing, educational courses, and webinars.
- Support team members during peak periods to ensure timely project completion.
- Contribute to internal process improvements, report designs, audits, and team training.
- Provide research support to the Information Services team as needed.
Requires:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field (Registered Dietitian certification is a plus).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in regulatory compliance, food labeling, or a related field.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of U.S. (FDA, USDA, CBP, FTC, TTB) and/or Canadian (Health Canada, CFIA) labeling regulations. Familiarity with AAFCO, Mexico, and DSHEA regulations is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of food product development, food safety, and manufacturing processes. Strong ability to interpret complex regulations and identify non-compliance issues.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, analytical, and multitasking abilities. Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Technology Proficiency: Microsoft Office, Google applications, and regulatory compliance tools.
- Language Skills: Bilingual in French Canadian or Spanish is a plus.
Work Environment
- This role is fully remote, primarily involving office/home-office work. Some travel may be required.
