Key Requirements of the Role

  • Legal Operations Management, Process Improvement and Technology Enablement (50%):
  • Implementing and optimizing legal operations processes such as request management, triage and allocation; contract management; records and knowledge management.  
  • Driving operational efficiencies through technology and process improvements, managing legal dept projects, and supporting day-to-day ops.  
  • Developing and enforcing policies and procedures to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the legal department.  
  • Developing management information (MI) dataset and dashboard (such as volumes and sources of legal support demand; cycle times; financial performance) to support business insights and decision-making by the CLO.  
  • Organizing and managing departmental meeting schedules, onsite and related events.
  • Technology Management (15%):  
  • Implementing and managing legal tech solutions, such as legal intake and case management systems, CLM and DMS solutions.  
  • Overseeing vendor relationships, including negotiation and management of contracts and terms.  
  • Collaborating with sales operations, IT, finance, and other depts to ensure legal tech aligns with broader business systems and objectives.
  • Outside Counsel and Legal Professional Services Management (10%):  
  • Oversight of Outside Counsel and legal professional services relationships.  
  • Spend management, including budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses for legal services.  
  • Ensuring compliance with Billing Guidelines, including invoice review, performance tracking against KPIs and driving value from legal spend.

  • Risk Management & Communications (10%):  
  • Maintaining legal risk policies, monitoring and reporting on OKRIs.  
  • Roll out of legal communications and training to business and functions.  

  • Contract Management (15%):  
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating lower complexity contracts such as NDAs, marketing and events contracts and other routine legal and corporate governance documents.  
  • Maintaining all contracts and other legal databases.

Qualifications, Technical Skills And Experience

  • Minimum undergraduate degree, ideally in business administration or related field.  
  • JD equivalent or legal practice experience not essential but paralegal experience/qualifications strongly preferred.  
  • At least 6 years of experience in in-house legal operations roles in mid-size departments, preferably in the technology sector.  
  • Formal process design and optimization, project and change management qualifications (e.g. Prince2, Lean 6 Sigma, Agile, Design Thinking)
  • Substantive hands-on track record in legal process optimization, technology procurement and implementation and budget management.  
  • Strong profile and network in the legal operations ecosystem.

The anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is US$90,000 to $110,000 annually for US-based employees. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations, is based on a full-time work schedule, and is Bitsight’s good faith estimate as of the date of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for participation in a bonus or commission plan and an equity grant. Bitsight also offers a competitive benefits package, including but not but limited to medical, dental, and vision insurance; paid parental leave; flexible time off; a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities; life and disability insurance; and tuition reimbursement.
