Job: Contracts and Compliance Director

Location: TX, NM, CA, and AL

Overview: 

This strategic role will be responsible for developing and implementing a wide-ranging program of contracts, ethics and compliance for the company. We are seeking a dynamic leader, with extensive experience in these areas.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build an organization from the ground up, that incorporates X-Bow's enduring commitment to ethical conduct and meeting our obligations to customers and all of our stakeholders.

This role supports a geographically dispersed team located across the continental U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership in contracts, ethics and compliance for the company
  • Lead contracts team in developing policies, procedures, and standard practices to ensure contract activities achieve desired objectives and timetables.
  • Collaborate with program and other functional area leadership to ensure effective, responsive, and compliant management of contracts and proposals 
  • Identifies contract issues and responds to a variety of unusually complex inquiries while providing leadership in developing innovative solutions
  • Serve as primary advisor to management of contractual rights and obligations and interpretation of terms and conditions
  • Develop and implement comprehensive risk-based ethics and compliance program
  • Responsible for assessing and developing an ethics and compliance agenda informed by contract and regulatory requirements, external trends and internal strategic priorities
  • Monitor all operational processes and procedures using a compliance management platform to ensure that the company complies with all legal regulations and ethical standards

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in business administration or a related discipline, along with fifteen or more years of progressive professional experience in contract administration. 
  • Proven exceptional strategic communication skills, both written, verbal, and presentation, to effectively communicate business cases to all levels of peers, suppliers, as well as program and executive management, with an ability to persuade and motivate action. 
  • Demonstrated experience interfacing with Executive Leadership with the ability to communicate effectively and succinctly complex contractual, ethics, and compliance issues at an Executive level
  • Proven leadership in a complex, fast-paced environment, where prioritization is required to be effective
  • Significant experience in the drafting or interpretation of terms or policies, mentoring staff in contract negotiation and administration practices, and advocating for strategic business approaches as it relates to USG, commercial and international contracts with a strong understanding of the FAR and DFAR.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective relationships with customers and internal partners based on understanding, teamwork, and trust
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing a risk-based ethics and compliance program
