Position Summary

Support the Compliance Engineer's efforts to achieve and sustain compliance (product and processes) with various regulations (local, federal, and global) and customer requirements

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists in developing compliance plans by researching, analyzing, selecting, and applying compliance engineering concepts, approaches, techniques, and criteria.
  • Prevents compliance issues by collaborating with engineering design teams.
  • Develops, documents, and provides training on compliance policies.
  • Attains compliance by isolating and resolving non-compliance issues; recommends product and process changes; initiates engineering change orders.
  • Documents compliance by preparing and filing Declarations of Conformity and other certificates.
  • Reviews compliance reports for accuracy and summarizes information for the organization or customer requests.
  • Identifies improvements in processes, products, and services and provides input to continuous improvement team.
  • Updates job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging compliance engineering practices and standards; participates in educational opportunities and professional organizations; reads professional publications; maintains personal networks.
  • Interacts with Manufacturing, Purchasing and Engineering to resolve product non-conformances that could impact compliance.

Requirements:

Required

  • BS or BA degree in an engineering related field preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ Years Experience
  • Experience with Quality Management Standards such as ISO9001 and AS9100
  • Ability to use manufacturer data and spec sheets to analyze and document compliance to substance restrictions such as RoHS, REACH, TSCA, etc.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to research requirements for new or different standards as they are presented
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills in Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, problem solving techniques and statistical application experience.
  • Ability to work and communicate at all levels within the organization.

Desired

  • Experience developing and coordinating testing with military or related standards such as Mil-810, Mil-461, DO-160
  • Knowledge of FCC, CE, UL/CSA marking as it pertains to computer equipment
  • Experience using mechanical and electrical measuring equipment
