Job Description

In this role, you will primarily be focused on Nokia’s customers in the North America market which includes the U.S. and Canada. provide strategic legal advice to Nokia's commercial operations with the relevant customer(s) and become the legal expert and pivotal point of contact for legal support for the account(s)

  • Support the sales teams across Nokia's internal approval process for legal matters on sales transactions and support procurement in their conclusion of the relevant back to back contracts  
  • Provide legal advice end-to-end in connection of the customer activities on various topics in liaison with the relevant local stakeholders of Nokia. 

How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn

As part of our team, you will:

  • Build strong relationships internally across our functions and externally with customers
  • Engage early with the sales team to provide commercial advice on the structuring of deals and negotiation tactics
  • Be responsible for establishing contract documents for inclusion within commercial offers, ensuring alignment with applicable Nokia policies and mitigation of all identified risks
  • Managing our customer contracts through leading complex negotiations on agreements Nokia’s entire product and services portfolio while ensuring compliance Nokia’s practices and processes are followed including approvals
  • Provide guidance and assistance on the interpretation of contractual clauses and obligations as required by the business with reference to Group Legal when necessary

Key Skills And Experience

You have:

  • At least 6-8 years of technology company experience in the contract management or legal environment
  • Proficiency in English, both written and oral
  • Proven experience as a contract manager or similar role with experience in negotiating and dealing with customers and management at all levels
  • Substantial knowledge of contractual and business law
  • Experience working end-to-end with a Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system, preferably Apttus or Conga
  • An understanding of techno-commercial contract terms and conditions including their meaning and associated risks 
  • Good appreciation of operational and financial issues including revenue recognition
  • Creative, innovative mindset to spot opportunities and synergies
  • The ability to work independently and know when to leverage the expertise of others
  • Familiarity with large, multi-national company policies, processes and tools
  • Experience with Fortune 500 customer base and global transactions
  • excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills with strong commercial sense on risk & reward; detailed oriented combined with strategic advice mindset 
  • excellent interpersonal skills, team player, business oriented, can-do attitude, driven, committed 

It would be nice if you also had:

  • IACCM certification or equivalent
  • University degree in Business/Law (or similar/equivalent)
