Sr. Privacy Specialist, Trust Fundamentals

The Trust Fundamentals team is responsible for establishing and maintaining Trust & Safety's strategic relationships with key stakeholders including policymakers, regulators, and industry partners. We develop and execute programs to promote trust and safety across Meta's products and services.
About the Role
We are seeking a Sr. Privacy Specialist to join our Trust Fundamentals team. As a Sr. Privacy Specialist, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing privacy policies, procedures, and standards that ensure Meta's products and services meet regulatory requirements and protect user data.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain privacy policies, procedures, and standards that ensure compliance with global regulations, industry standards, and Meta's privacy principles
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and legal, to integrate privacy considerations into product development and launches
- Conduct privacy risk assessments and provide guidance on privacy matters to internal stakeholders
- Develop and implement training programs to educate employees on privacy principles and best practices
- Stay up-to-date on emerging trends and regulatory changes in privacy and data protection, and advise the company accordingly
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including policymakers, regulators, and industry partners
- Partner with our Incident Response team to investigate and respond to data breaches and other privacy incidents
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of our privacy programs
- Support the development of strategic planning and goal-setting for the Trust Fundamentals team
What You Bring
- 5+ years of experience in privacy, compliance, or a related field
- Advanced degree in Law, Computer Science, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of global privacy regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and LGPD
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and legal
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Experience with privacy certifications, such as CIPP or CIPM
- Familiarity with data protection authorities and enforcement practices
- Experience working in a global organization with a complex regulatory environment
- Ability to speak multiple languages
