Job Description:

The City of Raleigh is seeking a Senior Contract Specialist to join our Stormwater Management Division, which is part of the City’s Engineering Services Department. The Stormwater Management Division includes over 80 full-time employees working in an equitable, inclusive, team-first environment that takes pride in its work by being “Stormwater Smart.” This role will act as a subject matter expert, administering the review and routing of Stormwater new contracts, contract renewals, and amendments and monitoring Stormwater contracts' compliance with policies, processes, and regulations. As well as act as the primary point of contact for all contract routing and administration.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administering the review and routing of new stormwater contracts, contract renewals, Change of Orders (CO), and amendments
  • Maintaining strong communication skills among project managers, department contracts liaisons, procurements, and vendors on the status of the contracts
  • Maintaining contract templates and determining required contract documentation
  • Coordinating internal review of contracts with the Project Managers, Procurement, and Department contracts liaisons and maintaining communication with vendors during contract terms

Typical Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Associates Degree in accounting or Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance and two years contract administration experience involving purchasing goods and services

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business administration, Accounting, Public administration, or Finance
  • Notary Public designation
