Legal Specialist
Role Overview & Key Responsibilities:
We are seeking motivated law students and professionals to assist Mercor in a research project with a leading AI lab.
In this role, you will:
- Read and analyze complex legal case documents from various domains (constitutional, contract, patent, etc.)
- Synthesize findings from these analyses to answer involved research queries
Ultimately, the goal is to assess the current capabilities of state-of-the-art LLMs (such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.) in information processing and case analysis within the legal domain. Your contributions to this project will help AI researchers better understand how models can be trained to synthesize case documents in order to answer complex legal questions.
Qualifications:
Ideal candidates for this position have at least one of the following qualifications:
- 2nd or 3rd-year law school student at a top law school
- Legal professional with direct litigation experience
- Current or previous faculty member at an accredited law school in the United States
Compensation:
You will be compensated $70-90/hr (max. 20 hours per week) for your work on this project. We will pay you out at the end of each week via Stripe Connect. The project is fully asynchronous, so you’ll have the flexibility to set your own hours and work whenever it fits your schedule.
The vetting process consists of a paid case study trial, after which top performers will be invited for official onboarding onto the project.
