About Robin AI

Robin AI is on a mission to rebuild the legal industry — starting with making contracts simple for everyone. We are a pioneer in Legal AI, built on proprietary models, licensed data, and deep partnerships with Anthropic and AWS. Since 2019, we’ve expanded our footprint to 3 continents and have been supporting many of the world’s most successful businesses, including GE, Pfizer, KPMG, and UBS.

About This Role

Robin AI is looking for a Legal Engineer to join our team in developing groundbreaking legal technology products. You will work at the exciting intersection of law and technology, collaborating with lawyers, machine learning (ML) engineers, AI researchers, and product managers in order to help design, build and evaluate industry-leading legal AI products.

We are looking for someone with a keen interest in legal AI, with a strong understanding of how legal teams deliver professional services and execute complex legal and knowledge tasks. You will use your legal knowledge and creative thinking to enhance our core product offerings and deliver innovative features to customers.

What You’ll Do

  • Work with the product, implementation and research teams to identify new AI-based solutions for product features, through the lens of your legal experience.
  • Utilise your legal know-how to test, evaluate and improve product features and research streams that drive development.
  • Assist senior members of the team in analysing legal workflows and high-value tasks, and collaborate with our engineering team to build AI/ML-powered solutions to automate and improve those workflows and tasks.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in the application of AI in the legal sector, such as large language models (LLM) capabilities.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Juris Doctor or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years in a relevant legal or regulatory field, such as law firm or in-house practice, or as a legal or compliance professional.
  • Enthusiasm for legal technology and AI-driven products.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality work product on demanding deadlines.
  • Ability to define positive outcomes in situations with underspecified success criteria.
  • Willingness and desire to own workstreams, for example, managing document-specific taxonomies, evaluating hundreds of answers and analysing data generated from thousands of legal documents.
  • Strong interest in learning about traditional ML models, prompt engineering and LLMs.

Beneficial

  • Experience in a legal tech company or with legal tech products (such as eDiscovery systems, clause extraction projects, legal research or contract management tools).
  • Experience working with ML or AI-driven products and an understanding of core ML concepts.
  • Prior experience working directly with LLMs and prompting.
  • Basic coding experience in Python or experience with crafting code to prepare data, define model architectures and configure training pipelines.

What’s In It For You

  • Salary: $65,000 - $120,000
  • Hybrid schedule: We offer a flexible working schedule.
  • Equity package: Generous equity scheme - everyone gets to be an owner of Robin AI!
  • Annual leave: 15 days PTO, in addition to the public holidays observed in the USA.
  • Health: Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 401k retirement.
  • Growth opportunities: We prioritise promotions for high performers and help you to progress your career.

Robin AI cannot offer sponsorship in the US but we can provide visa transfer/extension.
