The attorney will be part of a dynamic team responsible for a wide range of legal matters across the top of the house.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be a key member of the firm’s Corporate Legal group and work on a variety of matters, including public company and corporate governance, as well as provide legal support to and liaise with teams across business and corporate groups, including corporate affairs, finance, shareholder relations, strategic incentives and internal audit. This position will require interaction with individuals across all levels in Blackstone’s business and corporate groups, other members of the firm’s Legal and Compliance group, members of Blackstone’s Board of Directors, portfolio companies, and outside counsel and other external vendors supporting the corporate legal function. Areas of responsibility are expected to include:
- Front-to-back coordination of quarterly Board of Directors, Audit Committee, Disclosure Committee and Firmwide Valuation Committee meetings, including supervision of administrative and other support resources.
- Management of quarterly Sarbanes-Oxley sub-certification process.
- Collaboration with Corporate Affairs on the firm’s marketing and communications strategy; review of content proposed to be distributed across the firm’s public channels for legal, regulatory and reputational considerations.
- Assistance with planning, preparation and review of periodic reports (e.g., 10-Qs, 10-Ks, 8-Ks) and other public company disclosure documents. Management of NYSE listed company compliance matters, including preparation and submission of annual and interim affirmations.
- Director and executive officer onboarding and information collection and analysis in light of SEC and NYSE rules and requirements.
- Oversight and management of regulatory filings, including Section 16 filings for directors and executive officers and quarterly 13F filings.
- In coordination with Accounting Policy team, oversight of auditor independence matters, including liaising with portfolio companies and external auditors.
- Maintenance of corporate governance charters and policies, including coordination with central compliance team to ensure consistency and alignment.
- Corporate secretarial and entity management, including maintaining corporate resolutions and director and officer slates.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience practicing as an attorney at a law firm or as in-house counsel.
- Interest in a dynamic and high growth environment.
- Ability to be proactive in new situations and to independently manage projects to conclusion.
- Strong time and task management.
- Must be a strong and independent thinker with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Expected annual base salary range:
$135,000 - $200,000
Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation:
Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
