Salary:
$200,000 to $250,000 / year

About the Role:
Join our dynamic team at Red Dog Media, where curiosity fuels our journey as we build a powerhouse performance paid search marketing company. As our in-house counsel, your mission is to ensure legal and regulatory compliance, limit risk exposure, and improve public perception. In this role, the company will rely on you to be an innovative problem solver as you constantly seek new knowledge to become both an expert and leader, advising various departments on legal inquiries.
Your Impact:
- Develop a thorough understanding of the risk landscape and monitor the current environment for proposed legislation affecting the organization
- Collaborate closely with the organization to help negotiate and close deals and respond to prospects and customer inquiries
- Develop written and live marketing compliance exercises for the organization to ensure adherence to best practices and familiarity with recurring issues and questions
- Expand and maintain a library of agreement templates
- Assist the HR team with labor matters
- Contract negotiation and management
- Provide practical advice on transactional, regulatory, data privacy, and cybersecurity matters, including support-related compliance initiatives
- Perform corporate day-to-day governance functions, including assisting with the creation and maintenance of corporate entities, preparing corporate governance materials and resolutions, and responding to audit requests
- Prepare filings and responses to government and private legal notifications and service of process
- Provide product counseling and risk assessments for the development of new verticals and product offerings, as well as marketing initiatives and customer-facing articles
- Ensure that all corporate entities remain in good standing in each jurisdiction they are qualified to do business in
- Act as a customer and government liaison for risk management purposes

- 5+ years of relevant corporate counsel experience
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to at least one state bar (which need not be Nevada)
- Experience handling matters involving data privacy or cybersecurity
- Experience building and improving legal processes such as contract management, including the effective use of software platforms and technology
- Agility and flexibility to take on new tasks and responsibilities when necessary to support the business and legal team’s needs in a fast-moving, rapidly- scaling, and dynamic tech company
- Aptness for solving complex puzzles
- An analytically-minded person
- Eager to learn and innovate, contributing at a high-performing level
- A highly autonomous individual who drives initiatives forward with minimal oversight
- Enjoys a challenging and competitive industry
- Performs well under pressure with a sense of urgency
- Values the independent nature of work - getting in the zone and going deep on a subject
