Entry Level Legal Assistant
Job Description
Our midtown Manhattan law firm has thousands of clients who have been harmed by defective medical devices and dangerous drugs. We are seeking an entry-level Legal Assistant with excellent communication skills to join our team. You must have a friendly, helpful attitude and be a good listener who can effectively evaluate and obtain information we need from our clients to proceed with their cases. Although 90-95% of your day will be spent on the phone with clients, you must be able to work effectively as a team player with paralegals.
Please note: You will be making approximately 250-300 calls per day (including voicemails).
Job Responsibilities
- Follow-up with clients by phone and email to expedite the return of documents required to further investigate their claim
- Follow up with medical records providers to obtain status on return of medical records
- Verify information we have previously obtained
- Skip tracing clients that we are unable to reach
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements
- Comfortable with high volume phone calls
- Ability to prioritize efforts and work in an efficient manner
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Goal/quota-driven, self-starter who takes ownership of work
- Ability to exceed provided minimum daily call metrics consistently
Preferred Additional Competencies
- Bi-lingual (Spanish)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Word & Outlook
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat Suite
- Experience using Salesforce or other CMS/CRM experience
- Legal, Pharma, or Pre-med interest
