Director Legal Dispute Resolution
The Director, Legal Dispute Resolution will be responsible for leading the strategy and management of the company's legal dispute resolution process. This individual will work closely with the General Counsel, other legal team members, and business stakeholders to effectively manage and resolve legal disputes, including litigation, arbitrations, and mediations.
Responsibilities
Lead Strategy Development
- Develop and implement a comprehensive dispute resolution strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives.
Manage Litigation
- Manage outside counsel and oversee litigation matters from initiation to resolution.
Coordinate with Stakeholders
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business units, finance, and risk management, to ensure aligned goals and strategies.
Develop and Manage Budget
- Establish and manage the legal dispute resolution budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
Analyze and Report Metrics
- Develop and track key performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of the dispute resolution process.
Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Trends
- Remain current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to continually improve the dispute resolution process.
Requirements
Educational Background
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent degree.
Licenses and Certifications
- Admitted to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
Experience
- 8+ years of experience in legal dispute resolution, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
Skills
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
