Contracts Specialist
Purpose of Position:
Summary of Essential Job Functions:
- Draft, review, and manage contracts, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with company goals and regulatory standards.
- Maintain an organized system of physical and digital records to manage contract renewals, deadlines, and obligations.
- Engage with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to negotiate terms, resolve disputes, and clarify contract specifications.
- Facilitate discussions with cross-functional teams to ensure all contractual obligations are understood and met.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and international regulations, especially ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations).
- Identify and mitigate potential contract risks, offering recommendations for contract terms that protect the company’s interests and reduce liabilities.
- Collaborate with finance teams to align contract terms with budgetary goals and cost structures.
- Track financial milestones in contracts, such as payments, incentives, and penalties, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
- Develop and improve contract templates, negotiation strategies, and best practices tailored to gimballed aerospace technologies.
- Provide regular training and support to project teams on contract compliance and risk management.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Contract Management, Legal Studies, related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3 years of experience in contracts administration, ideally within the aerospace or defense industry.
- Demonstrated experience, specifically gimbal technology, preferred.
Physical Demands of Position:
- Physically able to lift up to 20 pounds (materials/equipment)
- Effective use of computer, laptop, cell phone and other mobile device to exchange information.
