Job Description:
(Contract: Temporary | Monday – Friday: PT-20 hours a week | Remote: USA | Duration: 6 months | Start Date: Immediately | Pay: $45 hourly
Lawyers on Demand (LOD) is seeking a Contracts Manager/Corporate Paralegal to support one of our global clients in delivering the highest level of service to internal and external clients alike.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Contract Manager / Paralegal to support our legal team in various aspects of contract management and review. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that contracts are properly reviewed, executed, and tracked in accordance with company policies and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Review and Tracking: Conduct comprehensive contractual reviews using a standardized checklist to identify key terms, ensure compliance, track contract status, and monitor renewal dates. Organize and maintain fully executed contracts for easy access and reference.
- Redlining and Risk Assessment: Review and redline agreements to identify potential risks, focusing on areas such as liability, indemnity, payment terms, and insurance provisions. Flag any particularly concerning language from a business perspective and escalate to senior stakeholders as necessary.
- Client Agreement Review: Evaluate client Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and Terms and Conditions, with a focus on agreements from large international companies that typically use their own contract templates rather than a standardized form.
- Playbook Development: Collaborate with the legal team to contribute to the development and finalization of the contract’s playbook, ensuring consistency and clarity in contract management processes.
- Ongoing Support and Process Improvement: Assist in the organization and optimization of the legal and contracting function, including developing form templates, supporting the implementation of a Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system, and other related duties as assigned.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Paralegal or Contract Manager, with a solid understanding of contract law and terms.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify critical legal and business issues within contracts.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to track and manage multiple contracts and deadlines effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, and business stakeholders.
- Experience working with international contracts and agreements preferred.
- Familiarity with contract management software and tools is a plus.
Lawyers On Demand (LOD) offers flexible talent placement rates that range from $15 to $100 per hour depending upon experience level and specific skills requested by the client, candidate’s general skill set, applicability of candidate skill set to client need, client budget, number of hours requested, and other factors. A specific rate of pay for a project will be discussed with you if it is determined that you are a potential fit for a role.
