Purpose of Position
The Contract Administrator, Lead is responsible for performance of prime contract administration, including proposal support for both new business and contract changes, and negotiation / definitization of contract change proposals.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Performs duties at highest level of Contract Administration and management. Consider Subject Matter Expert (SME) within Contracts.
- Administers prime contracts after award, including day-to-day contact with the customer, review and submission of data deliverables, interpretation of contract requirements, performance monitoring, preparation of correspondence and file maintenance.
- Assists with preparation of annotated and/or conformed versions of the contract.
- Resolves complex contractual issues with both the customer and the end-user.
- Participates in the preparation of New Business Proposals, Engineering Change Proposals, and Contract Change Proposals.
- Assists with review of labor, material, subcontract proposals, and travel estimates.
- Prepare contractual correspondence in support of prime and subcontracts.
- Research FAR/DFARS/Agency Supplements and statutes, as required.
- Interfaces with other FSI wholly-owned subsidiaries, including the preparation and administration of Interdivisional Work Requisitions (IWRs).
- Maintains familiarity with on-going technical aspects of the programs and works directly with program management and technical staff.
- Leads projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.
- Leads others to solve complex contractual problems; uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgement and identify innovative solutions.
- Travel, as needed.
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent in education, training and experience. MBA preferred.
Minimum Experience
- Requires ten (10) or more years of related / relevant experience working contracts with US Government or USG Prime Contractors.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to perform work with minimal guidance of higher-level Contract Administration personnel.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise a high degree of initiative and responsibility.
- Ability to fluently read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Expert knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation and its supplements.
- Expert knowledge of contract administration.
- Expert skills relative to maintaining detailed documentation of contracting transactions.
- Expert skills using software programs, such as, Outlook, Word, Excel, Acrobat and PowerPoint.
