Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities

 • Follow customer processes to evaluate mechanical components for REACH compliance, including:

 • Sensors, cables, fittings, adapters, etc.

 • Use database software (SAP, Excel) effectively to obtain, organize, and understand component information

 • Communicate with suppliers to obtain needed materials information

 • Maintain and update component classifications in company databases

 • Follow engineering part change management processes, as needed

 • Generate templates, document lessons-learned, develop tools, and support the creation of training presentations to enable repeatable, standardized results amongst the rest of the design team (as needed)

 • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to current engineering processes, tools, trainings, etc.

 • Update status reports, present project status to customers, and work with LTTS project management to ensure productive and consistent customer communication.

 • Understand and adhere to all export control regulations.

 • Travel locally onsite to the customer facility several days per week as needed, and comply with all customer site requirements.

Basic Qualifications (Required)

 • Bachelor’s degree in Materials, Electronics, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or comparable field

 • 5+ year(s) of relevant REACH compliance experience

 • Knowledge on main connectivity related materials and mechanical finishings

 • Ability to read an engineering blueprint and understand Builds of Material (BOMs)

 • Experience working with 2D and 3D CAD software

 • Experience using large databases and data sets

 • Outstanding communication and technical writing skills

 • Outstanding customer interfacing skills

 • High capability in MS Office software

Preferred Qualifications

 • Experience with SAP

 • Experience with Assent, Silicon Expert, or equivalent product compliance tools

 • Experience with Obsolescence Management

 • An understanding of engineering outsourcing business practices

 • Exposure to the aerospace industry

 • Experience working with ITAR / Export Controlled technical data

 • Exposure to project or program management

 • Experience writing or creating standard work, establishing processes, and documenting lessons learned
