Job Overview:

The Contract Review Associate Manager will be responsible for reviewing and negotiating legal contracts such as non-disclosure agreements, letters of intent, service agreements, etc. to ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal standards. The role also involves overseeing other less experienced members of the contracts team to ensure that a timely and detailed redline of the contract is provided that identifies potential risks to the company and offers recommendations for resolution. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 – 5 years of experience, preferably in the Life Sciences industry. The individual should be enthusiastic, flexible, organized, and self-motivated, with a strong ability to multi-task without losing sight of details.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review and redline non-disclosure agreements, letters of intent, service agreements, recruiting agreements, and other legal documents as needed.
  • Work closely with the business development team to negotiate contract terms and conditions with clients, vendors, and other parties.
  • Ensure all contracts adhere to internal policies, legal regulations, and align with company objectives
  • Enter, manage, and track active and expiring contracts in the CRM and communicate contract status with the business development team.
  • Directly manage the related work of other less experienced contract reviewers. 
  • Look for ways to strengthen the review process and develop skills of more junior team members.
  • Assist with developing, revising, and implementing company policy regarding legal contracts as needed.
  • Provide regular training sessions and updates to the business development team on their responsibilities regarding legal documents.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.

Experience Requirements - Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):

  • Bachelor’s Degree, in Law, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of directly relatable experience. Prior direct management experience preferred.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • SalesForce knowledge a plus
  • Strong understanding of contract law and legal terminology
  • Proven negotiation and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
